Positive: We loved the breakfast and the wooden bath. We were very welcomed at arrival and shown around where to start our adventure. We were also sent to the Shinkanshe station with a super clean, comfortable car. Jeugiya family is so friendly and accommodating. It's very special experience.

Positive: Very nice hosts. Cosy stay. Wish i can stay for longer. I love the bath tub the most - the ryokan has a woody smell and it feels relaxing every-time we reached home after a long day of walking.

Positive: The Ryokan is so beautiful and passed down from generations. Together with the amazing hospitality from the family Muta it makes staying in Kyoto such a wonderful experience! I would really recommend the Japanese breakfast!

Positive: This place! These people! We had the most beautyful, comfortable, delicious and cozy stay here. The hosting family is really one of a kind, so generous, welcoming and caring. Making sure we had everything we needed and then some. And the house and garden are truly beautyful and relaxing. We could easily have stayed here much longer and I wish I could rate it much higher than 10. If you have the chance, stay at Jeugiya inn!

Positive: Jeugiya Inn is family owned and is operated Sei (father), Masumi (mother) and Bun (son). The area the where guests stay was built by Sei's father and was originally part of the family home. The accommodations are traditional, very clean, comfortable and visually pretty and tranquil. Viewing the garden area is so relaxing and so is taking a bath in their large wooden tub that looks out onto the garden. Each family member is beyond helpful and extremely hospitable! Sei gave us a personal tour around the area that lasted almost an hour. Masumi and Bun helped us coordinate a dinner reservation at Kagetsu, a traditional restaurant in Nagasaki who only accepts reservations by hotel concierges and in Japanese. Sei also drove us and our luggage to the train station and pointed out the elevator entrance that would be impossible to find if you weren't a local. Masumi prepared exquisite, traditional Japanese breakfasts that tasted great and had beautiful presentation. The location was in a quiet area but you could walk to numerous temples, shrines, restaurants and shopping areas. So convenient! I cannot recommend Jeugiya enough! Every aspect was a 10 out of 10! Things to be aware of... You are not given a key to your accommodations but the family is always around and you can communicate with them when you're coming and going. They always greeted us when we departed and returned. You need to remove your shoes in the front of the home and wear slippers in the rest of the home but you need to take the slippers off on the tatami mats. There are also different toilet area slippers. I'm sure most Japanese people are used to this but it took a bit of extra effort for my husband and myself, to remember this. The family lays out the traditional bedding in the evening and removes it during the day. Also, if you're over 5 ft 8 inches there's a good chance you'll hit your head on the doorways.

Negative: There was nothing we didn't like. Our stay was perfect!

Summary: A traditional Japanese BnB that offered fabulous hospitality, great food and a tranquil atmosphere!

Such a gorgeous, traditional house with a family who made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay the most memorable experience.
