This is not just any place this is a James' Place!
James' Place @ The Gateway is part of the exciting, award wining James' Places group of holiday homes. The accommodation is in James' Place unique style and at a great price.
The Gateway has 3 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, dining room and garden with secure Bike storage. We are also dog friendly with prior notice for a small charge. There is also a hot tub available for a small charge. Please let us know if you wish to use prior to your arrival so we can set it up for you.
The house also benefits from being only a few minuets drive from Merthyr Tydfil Town Centre with restaurants, coffee shops, bars and supermarkets.
James' Place @ Bike Park Wales and The Brecon Beacons is the holiday retreat every family or group is looking for.
The home has been totally refurbished in James' Place quirky and fun style - come see our grass stair case!.
The home can sleep up to 8 guests and of course we are child and dog friendly. There is also a Hot Tub. If the hot tub is required and please let us know at least48 hours prior to your arrival that you want it to give us time to heat it up. There is a minimal charge of £40 for doing this. You'll also love our "Cowboy" veranda so you can sit out and enjoy the view whilst you dine outside. There is a great out door area with secure bike storage and bike wash.
The lounge comfortable sits 8 people and has a 50" flat screen TV. For those that want or need to stay connected to the outside world there is free super fast broadband throughout the house.
The home has 3 double bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has 1 double bed, Bedroom 2 has 1 double Bed and 1 Bunk Bed and Bedroom 3 has 1 set of bunk beds. The bunk beds are adult sized but sleep children as well! This means that the house can sleep 8 in total or 6 people if everyone wants a separate bed. We have searched high and low to find little details in the rooms that will make your stay memorable and enjoyable.
There is a newly created walk in shower room and enough hot water on tap for 8 guests.
The Kitchen is fully equipped kitchen with induction hob & oven, fridge freezer, washing machine and all the appliances you need to make your stay easy and low maintenance. The cupboards are fully stocked with crockery, glass wear, pots, saucepans and utensils to ensure every guest is catered for.
The Dining Room will easily sit 8 people and we have added some games to make your stay go with a smile. Look out for our collection hats so you can dress in style and be whoever you want to be during your stay. There is also a record player so you can go back in time and be nostalgic or dance your socks off!!

Summary: The property was clean and large enough to accomodate us all and gave us good access to activities in the surrounding area. The hot tub was wonderful as were the large fluffy towels. One of the neighbours was upset about us parking in the street despite us parking most of our cars in the car park and just stopping outside to off load. He also complained about the noise at just after 10pm. We were a family group just finishing playing a board game, there was no loud music, no drinks, no swearing, no partying and our grand children were asleep upstairs. When I apologised to the lady next door, the following day, about any disturbance we may have caused she dismissed what i had to say and said everything was fine with her and that there was no need to apologise. Despite this we did all feel the need to be particularly careful and quiet the following evening, which made me and some others in our family feel quite uncomfortable.

Summary: My family and I recently stayed in this property for a long weekend. The house is gorgeous, fab if you love quirky attention to detail, and attention to design! The hot tub was beautifully warm ready for us on arrival, the out door space is the perfect space to relax and unwind. All the beds were super comfy, just what you need after a day of exploring the natural beauty of the surroundings. The hosts couldn’t have been more lovely, their communication both before and after our visit was second to none, we were provided with detailed excursion idea’s and tips along with their own personal recommendations! Well worth the stay!

Summary: Everything you need for an amazing relaxing time away , each room is quirky & different. The hot tub & garden were the icing on the cake . Clean , comfortable & overall unbeatable value for money . Would definitely return .
