Positive: Loved the traditional ryokan style and incredible onsen. The meals were delicious and all served in private dining rooms - Japanese style. Lovely staff.

Negative: Extremely cold in winter moving between rooms as the corridors are open air. It didn’t bother us but might bother some. We had a car so was easy for us to access the property but might be difficult if you don’t as it’s on the outskirts of town.

Positive: Everything exceeded our expectations. We were looking for a traditional ryokan and this was it. The room was beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the onsen was gorgeous. We loved our stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were very accommodating and were great at communicating with us in our language. The meals were very traditional and it was really fun trying all the different foods. We would return any time.

Negative: There weren't any big negatives. The only thing that was a little different for us was that the hallways were cold but that just seems to be how heating in the area works. Our bedroom was nice and warm.

Summary: Fantastic stay, beautiful setting.
