Delicious food and drinks specially for you on the kitchen table 😊Best advice for beaches, restaurants and bars and directions on how to get there. Positive: Being greeted with several plates of different local cuisine dishes (and in accordance with our diet) was a delightful start to almost two weeks stay. Iro, one of the owners, was there to meet us, hand the keys, give a tour around the house and shared a lot of good recommendations about not only Chania but also the whole region of western Crete. Throughout the stay, she was there to check on us and answer anything. House is fully equipped to enjoy everything. You can cook, you can do laundry, you can borrow beach equipment and what not. Each of the rooms has separate AC. Cosy living room was a great feature to have a morning coffee and evening tea. Because of that and calm decorations, we felt like at home. Location of the house is really good. Within few minutes of walking you can reach all different points in the city - old town, old harbour, both town and longer distance bus stations, smaller and bigger shops, restaurants, cafes etc. Most importantly though, thanks to this distance, you don’t hear the nightlife so nothing disturbs your sleep. At the end of the stay, Iro and Themos gave us a wedding gift - totally unexpected and really thoughtful. It was an unforgettable experience. :)

Positive: Everything! The location is perfect, super close to the historical old port, which means we were surrounded by amazing spots to eat, have a drink, or just sit and watch the sunset. Our host received us at the house, presented us with local cheese and wine, showing us everything around the house and giving us loads of options to enjoy in and around the town. She gave us access to her full network of trusted travel agents, taxis and was even able to secure us front row tables at the most coveted restaurants for sunsets. The house literally has everything you can think of. Need a little cooler bag to take some food to the beach ✅ Need some soothing cream after a long day of sun ✅ Need some soothing local tea before bed ✅ We absolutely loved this place and can only recommend it wholeheartedly

Positive: The property itself, while an older building, had been renovated & furnished beautifully. It was very well located and, most importantly, the hosts (Iro & Themos) were absolutely amazing. We were contacted before our visit with support & suggestions. Once we arrived, we met the fabulously engaging Iro who provided us with the highest quality information and suggestions to make our stay one of the most memorable ever. To add to all that, Iro provided more delicious traditional Cretan food that we knew what to do with! Cretan hospitality is renowned but this was on another level! Thank you thank you thank you!

Negative: The only issue we had was with the creeky stairs leading downstairs to the bathroom/toilet, while the bedroom and a second living area were upstairs.

Positive: From the moment we booked Izmir House with Themos and Iro we had a warm feeling that everything was going to be special and it was. Mr Fotis met us at the airport and drove us to Izmir House where we were met by Iro who gave us a very warm welcome and a wonderful introduction to local food and produce available to us. Iro also took the time to tell us about the local area and further afield with further info on reviews of local restaurants and eateries/pubs in the local vicinity. Very useful. In addition, Izmir House has everything you need for your holiday. The house is well equipped with everything you need. Iro and Themos are the most considerate and thoughtful hosts we have ever encountered. Please be assured that if you book this, you will not be disappointed! We will be back! Loved it!

Positive: Location is centered but quiet, owner is detailed and show great hospitality. This is not exaggerating, one of my favorite stay throughout years of solo traveling. The owners are very communicative and even prepared pizza, snacks, huge fruit basket and pies that was enough for a whole week. As a designer myself, I appreciated the design details in Izmir House that the owners put into, from the utensils to the decorations, there were just so much to love. I would definitely book this place again when I visit Chania next time. It's walking distance to the best diving center in town, which is another plus for divers.

Positive: Great location and the experience was of staying in a Greek home - not like an apartment The host Iro is simply amazing - never have we experienced hospitality like the hospitality we enjoyed on arrival and throughout our stay at Izmir The kitchen and amenities are serviced with everything you could possibly need - they have not missed a thing !

Negative: The steps up to the bedroom are a bit steep and required caution (especially coming down the stairs )
