Positive: The proximity to the beaches. The hospitality from the host-Aparna. The home cooked meals. And the cooperation received in finding, booking tuk tuks or guides for the local sightseeing. Her warmth and concern to ensure everything’s taken care of is so genuine. Lucky to have found a place and a host like this. Definitely recommended!!

Positive: One of the best homestays we've seen on our journey through south India. It is located beautifully in the green and the beaches are just a quick walk away. Both of them are pretty big and clean and you can be sure to get a lot of privacy there, since you won't meet many other people. The homestay itself also has a little garden where you can rest and it's also possible to access the kitchen. The rooms are clean and spacious. All of the food that is served is homemade by the host, using local and seasonal ingredients. It tastes great and represents the local Malabar cuisine. On top, you will experience the hospitality of Aparna, who really likes to host people and helps wherever possible. If you like it quiet, this is a place to feel at home.

Positive: The meals were homely, sufficient and varied. Nice biryani, jack fruit curry, fish fry, thali, mangoes and rice custard desserts. What's great is the water filter system, so single use plastic bottles are not accumulated. The rooms are spacious and spartan. Towels and toiletries are provided. The AC was most welcome in April. There are lots of interesting books to read. The birdsong and birdwatching is wonderful, like seeing 2 kingfishers. The location is residential & leafy. You really do come here to relax and lean into it. Ivory Coaste gives you easy walking access to 2 beaches, but the sea is rough with strong currents (that's why you can hear the waves crashing). People swim fully covered. Some litter & debris does get washed up on the tide line. Early mornings and sunsets are beautiful on the beach at low tide. Everyone is polite. Our host organised a fixer for us to attend a Theyyam at 5am. This was an incredible otherworldly experience - lots of colour, fire and drumming. Do read up before you go. Our host also arranged an excellent tuktuk driver to take us on a sightseeing day trip to the: fort, lighthouse, folklore academy, handloom weavers, and a bit of shopping, lunch & chai stop. The host is very obliging and hospitable. She is kind, interesting and funny. It was great to spend Vishu (New Year) here, and meet her children (the exact ages of ours). Lastly, the nearby Ayurvedic massage place is recommended. We stayed and recharged for 5 days, before Bombay. Thank you Aparna!

Positive: I can only reccomend to stay in this beautiful and tranquil place right next to two of Keralas most beautiful beaches. This is a proper homestay. Aparna, the host, provided delicious local meals and Lassis and took care of everything. She even arranged my trip to a local weaving mill, which was amazing. The room and the entire property were clean and so cozy and invited to calm down and relax.

Positive: I loved this wee Homestay which is just a few mins walk for 2 beautiful beaches. Everything about Ivory Coaste is special from the warm welcome from Aparna, the lovely big rooms, and the tasty home cooked food. Nothing was too much trouble during my stay and Aparna helped sort trains, Tuktuks, provided shopping ideas and even organised my attendance at a Theyyam ritual at 3am (which was amazing and should definitely be done if you haven’t seen one before). Thank you for being such a wonderful host Aparna - I really enjoyed our conversations 😊

Positive: It was for me the best place I was, during my traveling in South India. It was very well located. Near two beautiful beaches. Authentical, quiet and peaceful. Walking to the beach gives you the pleasure of butterflies and beautiful flowers. And the sunset was amazing. My room was also the best I had: a big room and attached a very big bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable. With stylish furniture. And a good bed! The hostel lookes wonderful, with the green around. The trees and herbs. The food was more than delicious. So subtle and various. And also authentical: the real Kerala food! And last, but not least. Aperna, the owner of the hostel was such an amazing woman. From the first moment she gave me the feeling of being welcome, being home. She is so warm, friendly and kind. So helpful and she is really interested in her guests. She gives with her warm hearted personality the stay in the hostel an extra dimension and touch. And she gives good information. And arranged a good and friendly tuctuc driver. Good information about activities, and places to go, but also you can learn a lot about Kerala and its food, herbs, traditions and people. My stay was due to Aperna so special and relaxed. Thank you!! I will try to come back to your beautiful hostel as soon as possible, with my friend and daughter. I am sure they would like it also as much as I did!

Positive: If you have any doubt about visiting this homestay, do not hesitate for one second and visit. It is amazing, the beaches the food the ambiance and the location are all spectacular. Aparna is a wonderful host who welcomed us warmly and helped us find yoga and a doctor, among other things. She always had a big smile for us and we had really great conversations with her. She shared her delicious recipes including showing us how to make masala chai! The food she offered us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was the best we've had in Kerala. We will not forget the sound of the waves as we fall asleep, the delicious food, and the pristine beaches. Thank you Aparna for your wonderful welcome! 💓
