Positive: The house is located in one of the best places of Hvar. The views are incredible, the private beach is even better than it looks, the apartment has everything you need (nespresso coffe machine, kitchen tools, paddle surf, sea towels, etc). Strongly recomend this experience. Furthermore Marija is amazing and providing everything you need, 10 out of 10.

Positive: The villa is in a quiet and peaceful area. The most I loved about it was that there weren't many people on the beach. Only those who stay at the villa. Very private, with enough sunbeds and gorgeous sunsets. We had a fantastic view from our balcony. Breakfasts on the balcony in the shade and evenings with beautiful sunsets. It is close to the Hvar town centre. Only 10 min by car. The host was very welcoming. Chilled beer and a bottle of complimentary wine were waiting for us on arrival. And she gave us a cute gift on our departure. Looking forward to returning next year.

Positive: We were naive arriving without car hire and planning to use taxi and buses! The host's brother is a taxi driver, which I knew from reading a previous review. So we were met, taken to the apartment and the next day we went back by taxis to sort car hire in Hvar. Maria the host was very helpful and showed us around the property and came back the next day when we were unable to fit the sheets for the sofa bed! She very kindly left us a bottle of wine, which was wonderful local red wine but no label so we had no idea where we could buy more. It may have been locally made. But we bought local red wine in the supermarket which we really enjoyed. The location, view and bay was the reason I chose this spot for some R and R. We all loved snorkeling and swimming around the bay as well as watching the sail boats coming and going according to the weather. The local original fish restaurant was amazing. We were fascinated with the fresh fish on display to choose. Our Bass was weighed, then cooked and brought to the table with some veggies. There was no hurry and the restaurant quickly filled up. Word of warning - ask if businesses accept cards first! We had to go back the following day to pay in cash! Also on the same note - take plenty of cash EUROS to Hvar, not only is it expensive; using the ATM's will charge you every time you take cash out. We watched as a storm brought several boats into our safer harbour until the moorings were full and no doubt the local fish restaurants were too! We really enjoyed the local Gelato especially the one Gelato shop in Jelsa and enjoyed the bay walks at night in Hvar including up to the castle for the view. It was fascinating looking at the expensive gin palaces moored up in the harbour and then going back during the stormy weather to see the spring tides overlapping the quay. We visited other smaller bays by car to really get the feel of the island. We didn't see any Lavender but plenty of grapes, olives and some pomegranates.

Negative: I realised we were travelling in high season and booked the property quite late. I wouldn't usually pay so much for a property but made the decision to splash out. It was smaller than I had thought looking at the photos but the view was lovely and peaceful. It was a completely different experience for us as a family, we're use to resorts, but I love being so close to the water, whenever you want to slide in, without too many people. We became aware of the drive up and down the lane to the property from the main road. You had to go slowly as most of the lane was only one car wide.

Positive: This was best place we stayed in Croatia out of all. Our accommodation was very generously proportioned with above average fixtures and fittings. Kitchen was so well equipped, including dishwasher and coffee machine. With the view, peaceful location and beachfront one just have it all there. We very much enjoyed large easy to use BBQ that was available amongst magnificent gardens for us to use. There was also paddle boards kindly offered to us that we enjoyed very much. The views and sunset were magnificent, beach amazing! Crystal clear water, private, no one but guests of this property were using it. I loved snorkeling around this property and further in little bays, there is so much life in there, thousand of little fishes, school of larger fishes, octopuses, star fishes and best of all mussels! Total privacy, quietness and seclusion with just a short drive down to beautiful Hvar. Staying in Sunset Villa was perfect choice for us and we will be back. Thank you Maria for your wonderful hospitality, wine and gifts that your showered us with. We are very grateful for your kindness to us.
