Summary: The main picture is not of the hotel, it is a public pool that is a 5 minute walk away. The hotel and facilities were old. We had an appliance trip the safety switch during our stay. The downstairs pub and live music is loud. If you’re not here for the music I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Definitely not recommended for families

Summary: It was kinda cool vintage but it is a bit run down. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable, shower worked well. And I did appreciate the double glazed windows when it was trivia night, but on Thursday there was a DJ and the pub was so loud double glazing did not make a difference. If I was on a vacation I wouldn’t have minded but I was in Perth on business and the noise kept me awake.

Summary: When we booked we didn’t realise that the Hotel was a famous venue for live rock music, having featured Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and AC/DC amongst its more famous guests. The Hotel has a 1970’s retro styling so don’t expect the most up to date facilities. Nevertheless, it was clean and the staff were very helpful. It is conveniently situated a 5 minute walk to Scarborough’s excellent beach, outdoor pool and many eateries. However, as the concert room adjoining the bar is part of the hotel, expect loud music from 8pm to midnight on Thursday - Saturday nights. And I mean loud, the bass resonates through the walls and windows. An experience, but not for everyone.
