Haven in the heart of Regional Park Livradois Forez, it is 4 km from the village of Vernet la Varenne (shops, lake built for swimming, paddle boating and fishing) and the town of Issoire (25km ), access station. This is an ideal place for mushroom pickers, for picking berries, for lovers of hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skis, snowshoes and of course the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.

Summary: Madame welcomed us with a bottle of wine and some home made jam! The property is beautiful, the perfect size for two people. It is very well equipped and furnished. Very peacefully situated with lovely views from the sunny balcony. Lots of walks in the hills one starting from just up the hill from the gite. We would recommend this property without any hesitation; we hope to return in the future. Merci pour tout!

Summary: Thank you Sylvie for the warm welcome on our arrival. The gite is exactly as described on the website and we particularly enjoyed the large balcony (weather was superb) for both our snoozes in the afternoon and our evening meal / drinks. Inside, it contains everything you need for a perfect holiday including a very comfortable bed and large shower. There is plenty of information contained within the property about the surrounding area (places to visit etc) but given the countryside setting we particularly enjoyed our walks each day. The local village 'Vernet la Varrene' is about 4km away and contains an excellent boulangerie (open 7 days), butcher shop (which was superb) plus a small supermarket, although Issoire (20k) has several of the larger supermarkets if that is required. We really enjoyed the food at the Auberge de la Source which was circa 9km from the property and offered the usual high quality four course home cooked French lunch for 13 euros! Whether your passion is sightseeing, relaxing, cycling or walking, this property and area has it all covered. Fraser & Yvonne (Glasgow, Scotland)
