Positive: The room was clean and some biscuits, coffee, tea and water bottles were provided as well as a kettle. The shared bathroom was a very short distance away in the corridor. The bathroom was nice and big with an electric shower. The host did offer transport to and from the Shrine for a fee which we accepted. They also offered to drive us to the airport but I had already arranged for the driver who dropped us to pick us up. I did not see any staff and as such I gave that point the lowest possible score. No doubt, everything was done by the host and family but I cannot class them as staff.
Negative: No breakfast in a location that is 2km away from the few shops is a big disadvantage. The room had too many pictures of various sizes all over the walls ... not something that I fancy. There were various sounds like beeps and so on occasionally coming from adjacent rooms. The mattress is rather hard I think because I woke up every morning with an aching back. There was a lack of privacy as there was no attached bathroom and getting to the bathroom meant walking through a common area. The hosts were nice but being restricted to one room also did not make us feel very comfortable. The host's original write up was contradictory " shared bathroom and again for use by Room 1 ". On sending a personal message the write up has been changed but still a bit confusing. If they ask Gemini to rewrite their article they will get a professional piece.
Summary: Not too happy with the place but lived through it somehow.

Positive: Ballyhowly was do peaceful and quiet. We, too, live in the country, so we felt very much at home.
Negative: Our only problem, had nothing to do with our accommodation. Finding a place to eat dinner that evening and breakfast the next morning were our challenges.
