Positive: The owners clearly went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to make our stay pleasurable. I also enjoyed the way they communicated by email with us in a clear and timely manner, and during our stay via tagged cupboards and drawers in the kitchen.

Negative: My only gripe is the existence of an air vent pipe that crossed our room and was very hot during part of our stay -- thereby heating up the room in ways that were unexpected and unpredictable. Better heat insulation of that pipe would improve the situation

Positive: Fran was an amazing, thoughtful host. She keeps the place spotless & couldn't do enough for us, upgrading us to a bigger room when it became available. Her hospitality exceeded our expectations. The fridge is stocked full for breakfast with lots of choice. It was warm, quiet, cosy and homely. We loved it. And she has an excellent system regarding the shared bathroom. Was apprehensive about this before travelling but it was absolutely no problem. The location is a few minutes from a subway station and bus stops. And only 40 mins by taxi from JFK airport. I would definitely call on Fran again when visiting NY.
