Positive: The property is beautiful and full of history, and Marcella and Antonio were the perfect hosts to a perfect home. They made you feel welcome and part of the family from the moment you set foot into their home and the kitchen is most certainly the heart of the home. Marcella’s cooking is divine with breakfast dishes varied by the day, you feel like you get a true taste of Italian cuisine as well as the impeccable hospitality. Antonio is full of knowledge and is happy to share this with you, and was a delight to speak to him and learn about both the history of the property as well as the region as a whole. The bedroom was gorgeous, beautifully clean and well looked after, with a wonderful view from the balcony and fresh linen daily. Honestly I cannot recommend this property enough, it was a sheer delight and we will definitely be returning, and very much looking forward to meeting Marcella and Antonio again.

Positive: The hotel is situated in the heart of Sant' Antonio Piazza. We drove to Sorrento and had to meet the owner at the Piazza. She arranged for someone from the garage to meet us and take our car for parking, while we were personally escorted to the hotel. The property is authentic to the area and the rooms are updated for modern comfort. It is close to most of the sights by walk and to restaurants. We got to see the nativity scenes and our hotel lobby was one of thr 18 stops.

Positive: 17th century "palazzo" owned by a prominent architect and interior designer has been thoughtfully renovated to convert some of the family home to guest rooms. Bonus.. the serene walled garden and the cozy breakfast room will melt away the stress of your journey. Primary hostess Marcella is a charming lady who will immediately make you feel a guest in their home. We had a "small" room but it was well-designed and never felt cramped. Heated bathroom floors and the best shower of our month of travels made us huge fans. The services are more hotel-like; fresh towels every day, room tidied and new linens, mini fridge restocked. Breakfast is interesting and delicious. Marcella is a wonderful cook. It's just a gem of a pensione and a ridiculous value, located on a quiet street 90 seconds walk from various "busy" areas. While there are steps we didn't mind them at all. They are in the process of adding an elevator.

Positive: The bnb is in a great location relative to restaurants, bars, shopping, and public transit. The owners are kind, wonderful to talk with, and provide great recommendations for what to do in the area. The breakfast was delicious and was enjoyed in the most beautiful gardens.

Positive: This is a Hidden gem in the heart of Sorrento. Perfectly located, short walk to the beach and right in historic town centre. Il San Gateano is a mansion turned bed and breakfast, renovated, extremely clean, attention to detail while keeping the soul of their father/grandfather’s property that is rich with history and architecture. We were served a beautiful and delicious breakfast in the garden , under lemon trees. A dream come true !

Negative: Nothing. Perfection from beginning to end. We were sad to leave the amazing Italian hospitality that we were shown.
