Summary: Lara was a fantastic host at Il Grillo di Firenze! She was the kindest and most caring person we dealt with on our entire trip to Italy. She immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable, and gave us a map with all the best locations to visit in Florence. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The only downside of this property is that it is slightly far from the main downtown area of Florence. However, there is a tram that will take you directly to the area in about 10 minutes. Thank you for everything Lara!

Summary: Lara and Lorenzo are ideally suited to run a B&B. They are friendly, caring and eager to provide excellent service. Lorenzo greeted us at check-in and spent a good chunk of time orienting us to the property and providing us with a map of Florence, including a comprehensive list of the opening/closing times of churches, museums, and other historical sites in the city. On alternating days, they prepared breakfast paninis for us. A table of yogurts, breads, fruit, snacks and granola offered lots of choice. Two cappuccinos each day for my wife got her motor running in preparation for our days exploring Firenze. They engaged in lively conversation with all occupants and made us feel at home. The elevator alone is worth checking out. The B&B is only a couple of minutes walk from the T2 tram which takes you to the rail station and onward into the city. Not many restaurants in the area - go to the center of the city for much more selection, but MAKE RESERVATIONS. If you're looking for a very central and comfortable place to recharge after checking out Florence, Il Grillo di Firenze is the place for you. Many thanks to Lara and Lorenzo for making us feel welcome and giving us some lasting memories.

Summary: My son and I really enjoyed our stay at the B&B. The owners go out of their way to help. We arrived late and they were there. We wanted to go to Mass and the owner called the church for me to check the times of service. Taking the tram into the city center is a short walk and an easy experience. Overall a great experience.
