Nid d'Amour is a luxury Gite for couples, in a peaceful setting, with lovely views over the Charente countryside.
This charming property started life as a Bergerie, but has been lovingly renovated to provide a mix of old and new - from rustic beams and exposed stonework, to a modern bathroom complete with jetted shower, spa bath and mood lighting.
The accommodation is all on one level, comprising of a cosy living area with a woodburner, a fully equipped kitchen (including a washing machine, oven, fridge, etc.), a tastefully decorated bedroom, and a luxurious modern bathroom.
Outside there is a secluded private seating area where you can sit and relax with a glass of wine, and there is also have an above ground pool for you to cool off in during the Summer months..
Situated in the small Hamlet of Noailles, Nid d'Amour is less than a five minute drive away from the local bar /tabac, and only 15 minutes away from the lovely picturesque town of Confolens, set on the River Vienne. There are lots of places to visit within a 30 minute drive - from the stunning Castle at Verteuil, to the Lakes of the Haute Charente.
The nearest Airport is Limoges, which is approximately a 45 minute drive, and Poitiers, which is slightly further.

Summary: The property was everything we hoped for and exactly as it had been advertised. The gîte has been tastefully decorated to a very high standard and is set in the most beautiful and peaceful surroundings. It was perfect for us.

Summary: Located within an hour of Limoges. The property itself is ideal for a couple who want total peace & tranquility. Rurally located surrounded by fields & wildlife! Very clean & functional with some lovely little detailed touches & tastefully finished with a lot of thought going into the property. The photos don't do it justice, much better when you see it for yourself. Lisas & Steve were fantastic, helpful & overall lovely hosts. One could not fault their dedication, consideration & friendliness. Would certainly recommend for those who want a total switch off or travel around. Plenty to see within a short distance although transport is strongly advised.

Summary: We came here to have some laid-back days and we are so happy we chose the Nid d’amour! It was the perfect place for us and we had such a great time here. From the lovely decoration and facilities to the pool it was downright ideal to enjoy the calm surroundings, the sun and especially the evenings with some good wine and gorgeous views at the starry sky. Aside from that Lisa and Darren are amazing hosts and helped us feel at home the moment we arrived! Thank you for everything Sarah and Marius

Summary: This Gite was above our expectations. It certainly deserves the 5*rating. Lisa & Darren were excellent host but Lisa was the hostess who was above & beyond the call of duty. They put us in total ease as soon as we met them. The Gite was without doubt 100% clean from top to bottom. It is an idyllic place for honeymooners. Ideal place to celebrate that special Wedding Anniversary birthday or to get plenty of R & R. We had a superb welcome pack waiting for us. Which so much thought had gone into it. There is a BBQ with coal supplied a plunge pool in the back garden with the most beautiful stunning views. We spent an hour on a lounger after dark looking at the stars waiting to see shooting stars. We were not disappointed. Lisa supplied a lovely soft blanket for us. The Gite is not called Nid de Amour for nothing. Tasteful decorated though out. Lisa has made a excellent & informative folder with suggestions of places & markets to visit. One place Lisa & Darren recommend to us was 'The martyred village of Oradour xur Glane' this was a great day out & well worth the visit. Their is also a lovely wood burner with logs supplied for the cooler months. We also watched Swallows swooping down to the pool catching insects & scooping up the water. You get to see stunning sunrises & sunsets. It's such a peaceful & relaxing place to be. We certainly couldn't fault the Gite. It was well equipped Gite. Thank you Lisa & Darren for making us feel so relaxed it was heaven compared to our holiday last August!!

Summary: We spent a wonderful, peaceful 2 weeks at the property. For us the, the gite was perfect and there was great attention to detail from Lisa and Darren. From the initial internal planning and construction to being decorated to a high standard I feel that both Lisa and Darren can be proud of their achievements in making the gite a very comfortable and relaxing place to be. As hosts they were always on hand and helpful whilst respecting privacy. There was a lovely welcome basket with a few essentials to tide you over until you can get to the local supermarket. Being a well equipped gite, there were instruction manuals left in both English as well as other languages for the appliances (which were maintained to an exceptional standard) What can I say .... A wonderful, welcoming and peaceful luxury gite maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness with the perfect hosts. My only regret is that the 2 weeks weren't long enough. We will be back ....

Summary: This is a superbly renovated Gite. The attention to detail is outstanding. The owner is very attentive and there are many lovely touches to the Gite including a lovely welcome hamper.
