Positive: The cottage was spick and span with gorgeous linen and towels in a beautiful setting with easy access to the N3, a supermarket and petrol station. There is masses to do in the area but we had access to reliable WiFi, more TV channels than we could watch in a lifetime and a breath-taking view (as well as a sturdy wooden climbing frame and access to a giant garden (we weren't brave enough to try the swimming pool in winter)). Other pluses were ample hot water and a washing machine (with detergent, pegs and a laundry basket available).

Negative: The hadedas. Just kidding, even the early morning birdsong was part of the experience.
