Positive: Superb location, fantastic view from bedroom. Walk along beach at low tide 30 mins to village with all facilities. Food in Belle Epoque restaurant excellent and very good service. Self service restaurant less exotic but good value for money.

Negative: Room had no comfy armchair and no convenient electric sockets for hairdryer( bathroom one provided was useless!)

Positive: Superb location. Beautiful coastline view from window. Hotel is nicely decorated with modern décor and furnishings. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Good facilities. Room kept very clean.

Negative: The photos indicate a balcony that could be sat on but this is not the case for the majority of the rooms. It’s more of a safety rail. So, don’t go there thinking you can enjoy a sea view from your room whilst sat down. Only one chair provided in a room for a couple. There was a pouffe/stool but no good for sitting on for any amount of time. There wasn’t space in the room in any case to be able to just sit and read or whatever which we found limiting considering we were there for a week. You don’t always want to go downstairs to the communal areas to read or relax. You don’t want to have to lie on the bed all the time you’re in the room either. The shower enclosure! Dangerous to say the least. It was very small - so small that I had to kind of manoeuvre myself in as the opening was so narrow. You had to step up about 30cm which doesn’t sound much but is tricky when stepping out with nothing to hold on to for support. Fine for those who are fairly agile but for those of a certain age (and there were a fair proportion of those in the clientele), it would be downright dangerous. No anti-slip mat obviously. Evening meal We were quite happy to explore the food on offer in the restaurants in Morgat for the first few days and enjoyed the 20 minute walk to and fro. One time we had thought we would try the restaurant, all places were already reserved. The next day, we reserved first thing in the morning. The restaurant evening service worked on a self-service buffet arrangement for the starters and then we chose a ‘plat’ for the main which was brought to our table. I wish we had taken photos. We both did a double take at what had been put in front of us. My husband was presented with rice topped with some chunks of sweet potato which were turning brown. There was one slice of jambon covered with what looked like school dinner gravy. I had mac and cheese. Nothing special at all. Could have been from a tin. Very bland. Dessert wasn’t much better.

Summary: Great location. Attentive staff. Room not great. Food poor. Polluted beach.

Positive: Lage gut. Klassisches kontinentales Frühstücksbuffet.

Negative: From the so-called balcony of the rear rooms on the first floor, you can directly access the restaurant's flat roof, which is covered with ugly tar paper. This obstructs the view of the sea. It becomes truly unappetising when guests feed the seagulls above, which then relieve themselves on the roofing felt in front of the rooms.

Positive: Fabulous hotel which is renovated in good taste, honouring the history of the building. Great location right by the water, good brekfast, tennis court on the yard, and first and foremost excellent and attentive service from the staff.

Negative: Tennis rackets could use new grips :-)
