The hotel offers most spectacular views of both the iconic historical Bund and post-modern Pudong’s financial center - a time lapse of one century of architectural history - with convenient access to both airports and major touristic and commercial districts. Located directly opposite the Oriental Pearl Tower between the cruise terminal and famous Waibaidu bridge, Hyatt on the Bund is also only a 5 minutes-walk from the historical Bund, a short 5-minute drive from People's Square and an 8-minute drive from Yu Yuan Garden. It takes only 15 minutes to drive to Lujiazui Financial District via Xinjian Road Tunnel; Pudong International Airport is a 50-minutes drive away. Positive: Amazing view to the Bund. Breakfast was really good. Room is spacious.

Negative: We booked for three adults in one room (which was allowed on booking). However, when we arrived they didn’t put the extra bed. We didn’t understand given we have had this opportunity everywhere, they didn’t want to add the bed. They moved us to various other rooms with no additional bed, then eventually they did give the extra bed (it took 2 hours). They didn’t even apologise. The receptionists’ english was very poor. They didn’t understand basic words like to “pay”. They didn’t bother to use any translator, we needed to use ours. WiFi didn’t work either, they said it’s because of vpn, I didn’t have vpn and still didn’t work. For breakfast many needed to queue to get a table, even waiting for 15 minutes.

Negative: Initially overcharged us, and some issues with the bathroom. It’s just a little hard to communicate with staff unless you’re fluent in mandarin, overall it just felt like the hotel wasn’t of the calibre it was made up to be

Positive: I don't have a food ordering app on my phone and as a foreiigner I want to experience the robot food delivering service that I saw on social media. The concierge staff was so kind to order food for us through his personal phone app. He also helped us find the restaurant that caters traditional chinese culture experience for tourist. For me, he went above and beyond to make the most of our shanghai experience worthwhile and memorable.
