Positive: The most beautiful accomodation we stayed in on our trip. The staff were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The restaurant downstairs was absolutely incredible. On our last day when we were going to catch the shuttle bus down to the train station, one of the lovely owners offered to drive us down there instead. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you so much for being so incredibly welcoming and thoughtful 🫶

Positive: Our stay at Hunter Lodge was faultless! The room was massive, well kept and came with free coffee pods daily as well as unlimited tea downstairs. The facilities were clean and functional with shared wash basins/bathroom areas. The onsen!!! Two private locked onsens are available for guest use at any time of day, we never had to wait to access the onsen and WOW was it hot. The location was perfect, placed at the top of the T-junction of the main street. Everything is within a 10 minute walk; 2x ski resorts, shuttle bus to other ski resorts, cafes and restaurants, gear hire shops, ATM, combini, etc etc.
Negative: Absolutely nothing, loved our stay and would stay again if returning to Myoko :)

Positive: Great location . Staff were friendly and helpful but little English . Good breakfast and dinner was popular
Negative: Drying room was rarely heated and boots were cold and hard to get on . Steep stairs with no railings . Entry steps could use rubber coating , very difficult with skis and boots . Toilet downstairs, difficult at night .
Summary: Would stay again as it is good budget accommodation, rooms are big and location is the best .

Positive: Staff are very friendly. Shared amenities were very clean - there were also two different sized onsen baths available for guests to use which was great after a day on the snow. A massive drying room was available for use for all guests which was great for all our snow gear. Breakfast was fantastic - we stayed for 3 days and it was a different cuisine everyday. Location was about a 100m walk to the Yodel Chairlift of Akakura Onsen ski field.

Positive: The family that run the property are so lovely and so helpful. The Rooms are actually quite large and the private onsens are a nice treat. This lodge is in a perfect location, in the middle of the busy area of akakura with bars and restaurants around. The lodge also has a restaurant attached that offers great meals - I recommend the Sukiyaki
