Positive: I loved the water slide. And there were many different hot spring pools. The bridge was also very beautiful during the day and night.

Negative: I liked everything. However, some of the wooden boards on the ground are loose and easy to trip over.

Positive: What is not to love about this place? Yes, it’s a little worn around the edges, but that’s part of its charm. Tucked away in beautiful Hsinchu County - literally nestled between the hills with a river coursing over stones, crossed by a sturdy suspension bridge that affords you quick access to the hot springs (and hotpot - more about that later!) from the resort side, and an equally quick retreat to your spacious quiet quarters). The staff could not have been lovelier, every single one of them friendly, warm, happy to fulfil your requests - in particular my friends ChoYee and Aling - and the springs were an absolute godsend to anyone who just wants to steam all the tension away in Bali-style settings. The rooms are spacious and airy, the bed comfortable, and the river only steps away, for sitting beside and sketching or just breathing in the air. And the weekend buffet breakfast, created by Aling and her team, is a feast, offering a wide range of tasty treats.

Negative: Small things. The leaf blower in the am (a necessary evil for a property this size, but I hate them). And if you desire alternatives to hotpot (admittedly multiple versions) or beer, then you’ll have to source them outside the property. Luckily, there’s a Family Mart a very short walk away, and Old Neiwan Street for street food treats and markets.

Positive: Hot springs in natural environment are just so good. Large variety of hot spring pools, steam room and sauna, plus massage available. Good accommodation, a little basic but comfortable and great location by the river.

Negative: Restaurant lunch and dinner are limited to shabu shabu. No other choices and next door village dining locations are extremely limited.

Summary: Did not use the water park. Hiked nearby trails. Okay for one night stay.

Positive: Really amazing location next to river surrounded by mountains. Couldn’t have been more beautiful. Great pool and spa facilities

Negative: Restaurant food was not good and bathrooms were dirty. Restaurant staff were not attentive.
