Summary: Our hosts Marin and Anna lived on site and could not have been kinder or more helpful. The small hamlet of Rodina is a half hour walk uphill from Starigrad where the nearest shops, bars and restaurants are, but our teenage children coped well with this doing lots of walking, swimming and exploring ( excellent wifi). Despite the remoteness the villa is well equipped and we enjoyed many fun family meals cooking in the black kitchen in the garden. This was a truly wonderful place in an unspoilt corner of Hvar.

Summary: We had a very nice stay in Rudina. The place was easy to find and we felt very welcomed right from the beginning. The house is well situated and also very cute decorated. It was on one hand antique but on the other hand modern furnished as well. Our host was very, very nice and helpful. They really brightened our stay and gave us many insider tips when asked as well as they even had dinner with us where they cooked traditional food for us (even vegan)! We had a very nice evening together and we definetly will not forget that!All in all we would recommend this place any time!

Summary: It was a great stay and we were very sad, that we could only stay for one week. Marin and Ana are very nice and warm-hearted landlords - helpful, friendly and very aware of our needs. They told us so much about the island, it's beauties and places. The BBQ, they did for us, was perfect and we truly enjoyed every minute! The houses are modern, very well equiped and everything (!) worked fine. Especially the black kitchen surrounded by the garden is a great place to stay, cook and relax. We can recommend this place without any restrictions and we wish Ana and Marin all the best!

Summary: Lovely property, spotlessly clean. Loved the garden area and second kitchen, where we cooked and ate out in the patio/ garden area. Our hosts Marin and Ana were so helpful and kind. Would definately recommend staying here. You would need a hire car. Lovely hidden coves to visit and swim in the sea.

Summary: We had an amazing stay here. It was more perfect for us than we could have imagined. A beautiful, well equipped property with the added delight of the black ( outside) kitchen. A wonderful court yard garden . Our hosts had an eye for beauty. They were also keen to share their culture with us and provided us with some fabulous experiences. We were staying there with our French friends who share our interest in food and other people's cultures and the whole experience was perfect for us.

Summary: "This house is perched on top of the small peninsula that separates Stari Grad from the sea on the other side, where you may find a small swimming beach. It is about 1 km outside of the town of Stari Grad itself, which is absolutely perfect if you're looking for a quieter, more laid-back vacation on the island of Hvar. It is a quick walk down the hill to Star Grad, where in the morning you'll find markets for fresh fish, meats, and produce. You can then take your morning finds back to the house, where you can prepare them in one of two kitchens. The detached kitchen has a wood-burning stove to cook in, which will delight all foodies, and doors and windows that open up right into the garden. The bedrooms in the house are all beautiful with large beds and the two upstairs bedrooms have small balconies with a gorgeous view. There is even a creature comfort you might not expect in a house that is 800 years old - a flatscreen tv - which is nice if it happens to be rainy one night. This house has been beautifully and artfully restored with care. The owners clearly take pride in the space they've created, from the house to the detached kitchen to the garden area that is perfect for reading a book on a sunny afternoon. The owners themselves are the nicest people, they made our stay complete by greeting us with homemade sugar almonds and taking us on a driving tour of the local areas of the island, including a winery, where you may be shown their simple methods and sample some surprisingly good wine. I'd definitely come back for another stay here, all four of us really enjoyed our experience."
