Summary: The property was perfect for the 9 of us. We loved the bedrooms. The living area was perfect for gathering and we spend a short time in there. The kitchen looked well equipped, but we only really used the kettle and the fridge! The outside area looked nice, but we only had three nights at the house, and didn't eat there. Our host met us at the train station and ensured that we had a minibus to take us up the hill to the house. We got lots of recommendations for restaurants in Levanto area. The gate to the property wasn't actually explained to us, and it took us a few goes with Keys and pushing, to work out that it is on an electric lock with a nearby switch - so that would have been useful! Also, if you are planning to walk over the mountain to Monterosso, (the house is situated beside the hiking path) I would not recommend the over mountain pass. The coastal path, although longer (8km?) is apparently less steep. Some of our group found the hike over the top rather challenging and it took us about 3 hours to reach the summit, and get back down the other side! The walk down to the Levanto train station (to hop over to the Cinque Terre) is easy - and Levanto itself was really nice and worth a visit. And yes, would highly recommend the house for a big group/family. Stunning views, and a gorgeous house, beautifully decorated.

Summary: Paolo's villa was lovely, lush, and private with breathtaking views. A great option for the physically fit. The walk up to the villa is challenging, and there is only one taxi in town. This is a good place to stay, if you are young and/or fit and you want privacy. It is difficult to make multiple trips to town each day, however, because of the climb. Paolo was a great host and went out of his way to help us with reservations, etc. The pool is smaller than I would I have guessed from the pictures, but certainly a nice option in the hotter months. It would be helpful to have a better stock of basic groceries such as coffee, cream and sugar on hand as it isn't easy to carry a lot of groceries up the hill . Overall, a lovely place and a great option for the right group of people.

Summary: Villa is very spacious and nice. The view from the patio is gorgeous and lovely for morning coffee and afternoon wine. The walk into town is a little challenging but not impossible. Since there is no air conditioning, this property would be better in spring or fall rather than hot summer. Bit of an ant problem in the kitchen. Paolo was very nice and helpful.

Summary: The house was perfect for us! The outdoor dining was incredible. The pool was such a wonderful addition as the weather was really warm! The hill is a tough walk in the heat. Thank you!

Summary: Beautiful villa on the top of Levanto. You can walk to town from villa but it is quite a hike up on the way back! The living/dining area was perfect for our group of 10. A few things that were kind of a bummer - the kitchen missed simple things like salt, pepper, tin foil, oil, garbage bags, etc. These are things that could be kept in the villa for other vacationers so each renter doesn't need to buy them for one time use. The other thing was the bugs. There were stinkbugs everywhere in the main villa and an ant invasion on our last day. The guest house in the rear had a pretty bad ant infestation during the whole stay. With a visit from the exterminator, the place would be perfect. Beautifully decorated and large enough for a big party! Perfect place to stay outside of the Cinque Terre towns - right on the hiking trail to Monterosso!

Summary: The villa was exactly what we hoped. The 5 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths were very comfortable for 10 people. The pool was a huge bonus! Also loved that the freezer had an ice maker. Paulo was a great host. Would definitely return.
