Positive: The staff was very friendly. We liked the area a lot. There is a beautiful castle where you can walk to from the hotel and you have a good view of the Rhine. Oberwesel has old city walls and many towers, we really liked it.

Positive: Breakfast was more than adequate. Freshly cooked eggs: boiled, scrambled or fried. Good bacon and surprise surprise, smoked salmon. Plus, cold meats, cheese selection, tomatoes, cucumber etc. and selection of bread rolls and mini-croissants and confitures.

Negative: Accessability for the less able, e.g. lift or no steps is impossible in a 16thCentury building of historic interest, but what it lacked in that regard was more than offset by its decor both inside and out. This did not come as a surprise but it ought to be noted.

Summary: An enjoyable stay at the hotel with the evening cuisine being authentic Thai, instead of German.

Positive: This room was almost a suite. I will add though, that the bathroom, which contained a toilet and the shower, as VERY small. But the room did have air conditioning.

Negative: We were on the second floor, and had to climb 2 flights of 28 stairs to get to our room.

Positive: Liked the old German decor and feel. We were a group of 5 seniors cycling along the Rhine. Walked the old town walls & along the river after dinner. Delicious Thai food in the hotel restaurant, and breakfast laid out in Victorian atmosphere.

Negative: Note - it is an old building so hallway floor creaked some. If it was really hot outside, there is no AC, but the temperature really cools down at night ( typical of mountainous areas).

Summary: Loved the classy old German atmosphere.
