Summary: This is an amazing peaceful place. Just perfect for calming minds and taking care of your body in local thermal water. Interior in this hotel is so charming and very traditional. Everybody from the stuff is also really cute and polite. I think if we return here next time in the summer it will be even more interesting with more available facilities of this area. But even now, in middle of April it’s so good and nice.

Summary: The hotel is huge but empty. The other hotels in the lake are all shut down. Our hotel was the only place to eat. At the small place open for dinner there was only ONE lady trying to do everything all by herself!!! We had to wait a long time to be served. She took orders, cooked & served the customers & didn’t have time to bus the tables. The breakfast was included with our room & it was okay. The waterfall was impressive. The onsen is huge but empty. I was the only one in there.

Summary: We enjoyed Sashimi of Himemasu, Towada Barayaki and Hachinohe Senbeijiru for dinner. It will be much better if local craft beer is available.

Summary: It is very close to the lake and in a very quiet place. The accommodation is spacious, so there is a sense of openness and it is very good.

Summary: 5 people road trip to Lake Towadaso. Japanese style hotel with public bathing. The room is much spacious than expected.It is clear with comfort futon. The only drawback is the weird pickle-like smell when entering the room.

Summary: Good Value Option Nearby The Snow Festival Site In the depth of winter, most of the Towada town is closed. Options are few, and we’re happy to have found Hotel Towadako. We came by JR bus, and it stopped right in front of the hotel. The hotel actually has free pick up to and from Hachinohe JR station (~1.5 hrs) and runs frequent shuttle buses to the site of the Snow Festival (just a couple min away). We’re all full after a big dinner. So, we decided to take a stroll instead, and it’s only 5 min’s walk to the Festival. Speaking about the meals – breakfast and dinner were included. There’s an indoor spa (the outdoor onsen is closed for winter). All these, for the 3 of us (all adults), it’s only ~US$200!
