Positive: The staff were very friendly. Undercover car parking available if you get back to the hotel early. Breakfast was very good with quite a lot of variety. The twin room is quite spacious, especially if you are travelling alone.

Negative: 1. The washing machine is broken and they could not say when it would be fixed so I could not do any washing during my 4 night stay. They don't have a "guest laundry" as such; there is one washer in the respective male/female change rooms for the onsen. As the machine in the womens change room was out of order, there wasn't any option to use the other washing machine as it is located in the men's change room. 2. I was unfortunately located right next to the smoking room which meant I could not have my window open as all I could smell was cigarette smoke and other very unpleasant smells, possibly sewer and cooking vents. 3. The mattress is extremely hard by western standards and not remotely comfortable. Basically like sleeping on the floor only you are elevated. 4. At night there are often raucous individuals in the parking lot of the neighbouring restaurant and the nearby park. They are quite loud and you can hear them even on the 8th floor where my room was located. Probably slightly tipsy but ultimately harmless patrons of the nearby restaurants but it was disconcerting the first time I heard them.
