Summary: We had a really good experience at the Riu, only the MTS transportation company wasn’t good. They did not give us the right information when we first arrived and they came to pick up us very early!!! I wasn’t happy with them!! Also the first flight in our way back we sat in a different areas even though we booked as a couple :(

Summary: There was some confusion with the Riu Cancun versus th Riu las Americas. they both appeared to be adults only. I got dropped off at the las Americas. And ended up walking to the Riu Cancun room,There was no room service not all of the restaurants were open. The food was OK no big complaint. They did have a 24 hour station that had burgers and hotdog of that sort but it appeared. You have to eat in the area. Plenty of little substations to drink, but you could order any type of food, which was disappointing. The rooms although they were clean, they could stand some renovations. Some of the staff was polite and others just brushed you off.

Summary: I love the Riu chain, they are my go to when I travel out of the country. I stayed at the Riu Cancun for 5 days and the only thing that keeps me from giving a 5 star is the humidity in the rooms which made my sheets feel damp my entire stay. I’m not sure anything can be done about that, the hotel sits on the beach and I had a full ocean view room. Although I didn’t care for the damp feeling sheets, I didn’t complain. I traveled alone and I felt safe, my room was clean, the facility was clean, there was plenty of entertainment, the food choices were good, the customer service was excellent. Would I return to this hotel? Yes, I’d return and I would bring my small dehumidifier with me. I’m preparing to book the Riu in the DR and I’ll take my small dehumidifier just to be on the safe side…I just don’t like damp sheets. The Riu chain will continue to receive my business, well figure out the humid rooms…lol.
