Positive: The hotel was a great way to experience Japanese traditions with a choice of Yukatas available in various sizes, a great Japanese buffet breakfast with local produce and traditional dance demonstrations. The private onsen facilities were perfect for bathing as a family. Free pick up and drop offs from local bus station made traveling around much easier.
Negative: Travelling around Sado island with the bus was a little tricky as buses aren't very frequent but still a good way to experience Japan away from the crowds.

Positive: I loved the extra entertainment offered in the evenings (taiko performance during my stay) as well as the welcome drink to enjoy over the sunset.
Negative: If there were any problems (and there weren't many), they consisted solely of the bed being too firm - as is typical and expected in many Japanese hotels - and the lack of blackout curtains in the room. The sunrise woke me up.

Positive: Just a nice place to stay and explore the island. Very nice and friendly staff. Great Onsen to enjoy inside and outside pools with a view to the sea. Breakfast was great with fresh grilled fish on your table griller and a lot of small, different Japanese dishes, miso soup, rice. Great view to the ocean from the breakfast room. Vending machines with alcohol and not alcohol drinks. A supermarket (Lawson) is just 3 minutes away. There are also a souvenir shop inside the hotel, who offers also food and cold drinks.
Negative: Bathroom was smelling. When I put out the small carpet, it was way better.
