Our essence was born in 1956 with a small grocery store and a friendly 2-room guest house. Essence that we try to show affection in the creative recycled decoration of the hotel. Positive: Central location within 5-10 min walk of bus station. Nice garden with pool. Good choice for breakfast (including fresh fruit). I think we paid quite a good price (last minute)!!

Positive: Good value - includes a great breakfast and has a clean swimming pool that added a nice ambiance.

Negative: The front desk staff wasn’t particularly helpful or friendly, but that could be a ‘cultural’ thing (we aren’t fluent in Spanish and they aren’t in English…oh well!)…

Summary: Charming place with lots of character. Clean environment ,comfortable beds, and great breakfast buffet…

Positive: Good location, comfortable and pleasant

Negative: At checkout, I was not permitted to pay in USD as I was supposed to with the price and currency in the booking. Instead I was told I would be given the exchange rate of 10:1 instead of the market rate of 6.9:1. Only after insisting on speaking to the owner of the hotel was I able to negotiate a rate of 7:1. Attempted daylight robbery!

Positive: Super comfortable bed and a grand spot to kick of my 4 day trip to the Salar. Staff were helpful and friendly. The power to the whole town cut out early in the morning, and they managed to keep everything runing smoothly anyway.

Positive: Very well located hotel less than 10 minutes walk from the bus station and town centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good tour agency based within the hotel.

Negative: The variety at breakfast was poor and items ran out quickly and were not replenished. Our room wasn’t cleaned at all during our stay. The maids did knock and I asked them to come back in 20 minutes but they never did. The following day we were out all day but the room was not cleaned. Lastly the noise - you can hear absolutely everything in neighbouring rooms and when people walk around the hotel talking loudly. Every morning at 6.30 there are continuous bells (3-4 minutes) from a nearby building.

Summary: Well located hotel let down by noise and poor breakfast
