Summary: For my first trip to Romania and Baia Mare, I had a pleasant time staying at Hotel Mara. I arrived very late but was still greeted with welcome by the night staff. Room was clean and spacious with everything required for a comfortable weekend stay. Recommended for anyone visiting the area for the first if not only for the decor but the views and its central location.

Summary: First the negatives. The overall condition of the hotel was 'tired and old fashioned' a lot of wasted space. The only negative was that we booked massages but the masseur didn't turn up and there was no-one else to do it. The positives were room size, bed comfort, excellent breakfast, central location and free car parking.overall an enjoyable holiday experience.
