Summary: Hotel Mango was a great place to finish our Costa Rica trip. The hotel is charming, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. What made the stay especially nice was that the staff recognized us from our previous visit. They were just as welcoming as before and also offered transportation to the airport, which made our departure very easy. A comfortable and convenient place to spend the final night before flying home.

Summary: Hotel Mango was a very convenient place to stay after landing at SJO. It worked perfectly as a comfortable stop before picking up our rental car and continuing the trip. The hotel itself had plenty of charm, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. A really pleasant and practical start to our time in Costa Rica.

Summary: Great location after a very long flight. Very tight parking if you rent a vehicle. Car is better than a SUV/truck. Flights start early so be aware of that. Otherwise great oasis.

Summary: Very close to the airport, free shuttle to the airport was very handy. Early departure at 6.30am meant no breakfast - only a truly awful cup of coffee and a small individual packet of biscuits to go. This could be improved by offering a small simple breakfast to-go with a piece of fruit, bottle of water / juice and maybe a sandwich or cereal bar. The pool was clean, if a tad chilly and the bar was delightful. Overall would stay here again.

Summary: Wish we would have stayed here the whole time instead of terrible San Jose. 2 mins from airport. Pool area was great with a few small comfy areas for shade or shelter from rain. On site hotel had delicious dinner and included breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Safe. Free parking. Planes fly low above the hotel but we thought is was cool, not annoying. The hotel is on the outskirts of city so not much traffic for day trips out.

Summary: The one BIG challenge of the hotel was getting in. The hotel is one a very busy street and there is barely room for a car in front of it's metal security gate. Twice it was needed to go in the opposite lane, in a slight space in the traffic. All other drivers around understands, so it's doable. The last challenging point - it is next to the airport, so the sound of planes landing and taking off is a part of the experience. Once in, the hotel staff were fine to work with and the shuttle we needed to be at the airport was perfect. The room was fine for a quick night. AC worked fine, bed was comfortable. If I make it back to Costa Rica, I would consider staying here again.

Summary: Definition of a hidden gem. Hotel was surrounded by airport/city but the only way to tell was from the noise of the occasional flights taking off. We warned the entrance is hidden. We missed it and it took 15 minutes to get back 500 feet due to the traffic. The grounds have an impeccable plant zen vibe. The restaurant is limited but fine. Super quick to airport…we went 3 hours early and it took 10 minutes to get thru security.
