Positive: The service and breakfast was nice as was the dinner in the hotel. We chose it because it was central, and it was in a nice part of town.

Negative: We were told that the hotel had parking facilities, which it did not have. It was impossible to get to the hotel without permit to enter a pedestrian zone and it did not show up on the Satnav. We did in the end get all the way up to the hotel, but when we had to leave, it was not possible. It was advertised as an 5* hotel, and though it had some features, it really was not.

Positive: location was very central; receptionist was very friendly and helpful;

Negative: difficult to access the property by car; getting to and from the public parking garage was difficult; public parking garage was outrageously expensive (not the hotel's fault); they should provide coffee machine in room rather than having to go downstairs to lobby; breakfast options rather limited; bathroom was rather dated.

Summary: Great location and above average friendliness.

Positive: The beds are incredibly comfortable, the restaurant is fabulous and the staff welcoming, helpful and very professional.

Negative: Getting to and fro is a bit of a mission if one uses an Uber/some cabs (a special permit is required to drive in that part of town)… best to ask the hotel to arrange transport (this information is also relayed on the hotel’s website so it didn’t come as a surprise). Other than that, I can’t think of anything.

Summary: Relaxing and overall, superb.

Positive: Almost everything was excellent. Location on a quiet little street, but right in the heart of the old city. Beautiful surroundings. The room was small but very clean and well appointed, with a very comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice touches like gorgeous books to borrow, as well as bottled mineral water, espresso machine, fruit and cookies in the small lobby are very welcoming.

Negative: If you are arriving by car, it's rather difficult. You have to park in a paid public lot, which is a short walk over a steep hill, on cobble stone paving. That would make it really hard to get rolling suitcases to the hotel. To drop your luggage at the door, before you go and park the car, you have to ask the hotel for a special permit, since the area is off limits to cars. It's a very difficult drive through the narrow cobblestone streets, crowded with pedestrians. Second, there was a bad smell from the shower drain. That's unusual for a Swiss city... more common with the questionable plumbing in Italy. We had to close the door to the bathroom and run the fan all night.

Summary: Terrific overall.

Positive: Location is very nice, staff are excellent, classy looking decor, including the restaurant, hallways and rooms. Beverages and fruit available at reception.

Negative: Rooms are a little small, especially with luggage. Breakfast is very tasty and freshly made for you, but could use a few more options.
