Positive: The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide selection of fresh and high-quality ingredients. I especially enjoyed the natto served with rice, which added an authentic Japanese touch. There were also plenty of Western breakfast options available, though I mainly chose the fresh fruits. The apples were particularly delicious. Overall, it was a very enjoyable breakfast experience.

Negative: One aspect that I found challenging was the lack of elevators in the hotel. The property consists of three levels, including a lower ground floor and a second floor, and our room was located on the second floor. As I have knee issues and my travel companion uses a walking stick, climbing multiple flights of stairs was not particularly convenient. In addition, our husbands had to carry several large suitcases up to our rooms, making multiple trips due to the amount of luggage we had. I appreciate that the hotel aims to preserve the charm and traditional atmosphere of a Japanese onsen ryokan. However, I believe a lift or luggage elevator would greatly improve accessibility and convenience for guests with mobility concerns, while still maintaining the hotel's unique character.

Summary: Peaceful traditional onsen hotel with excellent meals; the only drawback is the lack of an elevator.

Positive: The Japanese style room is spacious and clean, with a big living room for me and my family. The futons are comfortable and the comforters are warm. Most of all, the meals are fabulous, which the chef makes with fresh local food . The staff is friendly and helpful. My family and I would like to visit again.

Positive: Beautiful onsen with outdoor bath. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and dinner served. The staffs were also friendly to engage my 4 year old child.

Negative: Some of the furniture were quite outdated but it is still clean.

Positive: Booked the twin room with private onsen bath. The wooden tub had a slope which was perfect for bathe. Windows could be opened for the perfect mix of cold air/warm bath, and there was also a mesh keeping insects out. Staff were very friendly. The place was just a 45mins day trip away to either Hirosaki or Aomori city, also extremely close to Hakkoda and the snow corridor. Lastly, there is a small waterfall right behind the building which i personally loved as the sounds of water falling (akin to raining) is very soothing in a cold, quiet environment. Free parking!

Negative: Absolutely nitpicking here - there is no lift, for those staying on level 2.
