Positive: Breakfast was great. Location is very good for local sightseeing. Facilities on the premise enable flexible planning. Rooms spacious and well kept. Staff is very kind.

Negative: 1) No small fridge in the room 2) No laundry facilities for guest use - when doing workouts it would be nice to be able to wash clothes independently

Positive: All the staff we interacted with were extremely kind and helpful. Reception, restaurant, housekeeping - everyone without an exception! We felt very welcome and valued. Whenever we wanted any information or recommendations, the receptionist was very helpful providing us very detailed information including her experience/preferences instead of just pointing us towards brochures. The owner is very involved in running the establishment and this clearly showed in the way the staff interacted with the guests. The breakfast was wonderful, it is a bit different from the typical breakfast buffet. We really enjoyed it. The view from the our room was really nice and the indoor swimming pool too was really nice. Convenient location as well, bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Can't recommend this place enough. Suggestions to travellers booking their stay here - spare enough time to walk around Wolfgangsee lake and St Gilgen village. Also walk along the lake to Furberg.

Positive: Great location, felt like a bit of paradise especially with the private lake access and garden/swimming pool. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff were lovely and helpful at all times. Really special place and I can't wait to go back.

Negative: There is no aircon in the rooms which meant my room was too hot during the day. This is understandable given there was a heatwave but I think considering it is a 4 star hotel, they should have aircon in the rooms.

Positive: The external hired staff is very friendly and kind.

Negative: It is a family-run hotel. I initially booked a single room but was given an extremely small room with no balcony or view, which felt more like a box than a proper room. When I asked if it was possible to move to a room with a view, I was told I would need to pay extra for an upgrade. I agreed because I didn’t want to spend the night in such a confined space, especially after already paying €126. What made this disappointing was that the hotel appeared to have only three or four guests at the time, so charging extra for the upgrade felt unnecessarily petty. Ironically, the upgraded room was still quite small. The hotel itself is quite old and dated. The bathroom and décor feel tired, and there is very little soundproofing — I could clearly hear conversations happening at reception from my room. The spa was also underwhelming. One of the rooms was not functional, and the steam room was barely warm. Overall, I feel I significantly overpaid for this stay. In my opinion, this property would be reasonable at around €80 per night, but certainly not the €150 I ended up paying. I wouldn’t recommend it at that price point.
