Summary: Had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The views were beautiful, it was very clean and staff was so friendly they were very patient with us not knowing how to speak Japanese but they were so nice and communication was good ! On site restaurant was also very good although we noticed other options were very limited . Room was very nice also and we loved the pajamas and sippers that were on the bed. Over all great stay but we were surprised that the beds were very very hard although we slept ok . We would definitely return !

Summary: Leaves a western tourist dissatisfies. Although views are amazing, the rooms are bit worn out, there’s only one restaurant with very limited opening hours and menu, no pool that could actually be used. The resort is far away from other services like restaurants, coffeeshops or convenience stores. Nice place to visit, but you’ll find better in Okinawa.

Summary: This was our second stay in Hamahigashima hotel, and we were delighted to be here again! On our first visit two years ago we felt very welcome as the English expert of the staff made sure our stay was comfortable. During this trip we were able to use Japanese to converse with him and the rest of the staff, and they all were lovely and very professional. Hamahigashima hotel has a peaceful location on a small island reachable by car (which we recommend renting). The atmosphere is relaxed as there are not too many rooms. There are two restaurants in the hotel with one serving more traditional Okinawan food, and the other serving French course meals as well as breakfast. This time the breakfast was served to tables on order, which was a nice surprise. Other services include a pool during summer season, relaxing onsen, lounge services, vending machines and a small souvenir shop. The nearby beach offers various water activities - we tried banana boating around the island and enjoyed it very much. The hotel values its customers and given the chance we would definitely return to this beautiful and peaceful location. Finally some TIPS: renting a car is almost a must as public transportation around here is rare and getting to convenience store requires a small drive. Also the butter fish course in traditional Okinawan food restaurant is amazing.
