Summary: You want convenience then this is the hotel for you! Right in the heart of the rail system for easy access to all of Kyoto. Very comfortable rooms and great service.

Summary: The staff was very courteous upon arrival. Taking out bags while we ventured to explore and when we returned after check in time, the bags were already in our room. The buffet breakfast was very fresh and tasty. The bed and room were very comfortable.

Summary: Chose this hotel based on travel guide recommendation--overall a good hotel, but it's showing its age/wear. I stayed in a 2-"twin-bed" room, non-smoking. The pictures on Hotels.com were fairly clear that the bathroom was a little more dated than the king-bed rooms, and they were accurate. However, I wasn't prepared for how dingy the carpet was nor the walls which were in need of some paint touch-ups. The bed was firm enough and the linen was fine, but I would not consider them four-star quality. That said, the service was amazing--especially the concierge, who was so knowledgeable and seemed to have a map to direct me to every area I could imagine. I was a little concerned about being right in the train station, but barely heard any noise from the tracks and that tapered off during the night. Being close to the JR, subway, and Shinkasen were all huge pluses. Ate dinner one night in the Cafe because it was easy to do the night I had a business conference call. Didn't try the buffet, which looked quite extensive, but the a la carte beef curry I ordered was mediocre (especially for the price). The pool/jacuzzi at the hotel were great (though required an additional charge--why wasn't it included) and the rest of the gym was quite small/inadequate given they were asking a fee. Since I was traveling alone, it met my needs but don't think I'd stay there again. Th

Summary: The hotel Granvia in Kyoto is modern, clean and well organized. The staff is very nice, polite and helpful. The location is very convenient to do day trips from Kyoto. There is a good choice of restaurants in the hotel although they are very expensive. We could hear other guests from our room. The hotel is beautiful at night with light displays and a spectacular view of Kyoto Tower. I would go back anytime!

Summary: Beautiful hotel and location could not be better! It is THE hotel to stay in Kyoto right above the train station, across the street from the Kyoto tower, tons of shops and restaurants everywhere! Luxurious, clean, kind staff, simply amazing! My only constructive criticism is in regards to their breakfast which could have some improvement - the food supposed to be warm (like scrambled eggs or hashbrows) were always cold. Regardless, I would stay there over and over again. It is really a wonderful hotel and location is unbeatable!

Summary: Hotel Granvia is connected to the Kyoto Station. The location is excellent, plus all the conveniences being in the station. The hotel staff speaks English. Room is spacious compared to Japanese standard. Breakfast (Japanese/Western) is very very good. It contains many options, food is delicious, coffee is great. We will come back again.
