Summary: Extremely frustrating stay. I had two back-to-back reservations at the hotel in different types of rooms. I called a week before to ask if I could have my reservation adjusted so that I would not have to change rooms during the stay. The staff member told me “absolutely, for an extra $15/night” they could place me in the same room (ocean view) for all three nights. I agreed to do it, and when I asked if I could pay over the phone to lock it in, was told “don’t worry, we’ve got a note down on your file.” It was surprising, then, that when I checked in there was no record of my call and that I’d be forced to change rooms during my stay if I wanted to remain at the hotel for all three nights. The room change happened on the day of a whale-watching tour, forcing me to pack everything up, bring it to the front desk for storage for a few hours, and then move everything back afterwards. I can’t remember the last time I encountered a more disjointed hotel staff team than this one. **don’t trust what they tell you over the phone for any reservation change requests unless you get an email confirmation of that change!** won’t be staying again if I can’t get the same room type in a single reservation.

Summary: The hotel was a huge disappointment. We booked two rooms, one had a split unit AC and one had nothing but a ceiling fan and two metal standing fans. When I asked at the desk why the room didn't have AC she said "That room doesn't have AC, this is Alaska honey" That room was also filthy, after spending the night we moved the blankets were filthy! Overall a huge disappointment. The staff was also rude, complaining about the guests.

Summary: The ocean view from the first floor opened to the street and park; not much of an ocean view for the price and there was a constant flow of tour busses right at window. The street cleaners, idling tour busses, and late night/ early returning drunkards made for loud distractions and interrupted sleep. The location is convenient to several lovely dining options for meals, as the breakfast option at the hotel was buffet only and $23 per person.

Summary: The pictures shows a breakfast, when you get there, after booking, you see the sign - 24 bucks a person. Not cool at all. Very deceptive.

Summary: The location is perfect. I would stay here again based on that alone. The hotel needs some updating, small bathroom/sink area. Good and helpful staff. You have to request housekeeping, which isn’t a big deal but no one told us that so we were confused when we didn’t have any service after the first few days of our stay.

Summary: If you’re going to be in the hospitality business then it might be a good start by being hospitable. Maybe the staff were not having a good day but we were not greeted by the staff and communication was perfunctory at best. Location was in downtown, about a mile or so from the harbor where the trips to the Kenai Fjords depart.

Summary: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great for walking the waterfront or downtown shops. We did a Kenai tour and drove to the marina (I think we could have walked there along the waterfront if we were feeling energetic). They let us check-in in a little early since our room was ready. That was great, and allowed us to start exploring. We had a king room. Small bathroom, but great shower water pressure. The toilet was a bit finicky/clogged immediately, but maintenance responded right away. Parking is on the street out front which could probably get tough during the busy summer. The room needed a smart tv (it’s 2026) so we could log into streaming services like Netflix, Prime, etc. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel ($22/person which seemed expensive for what they offered). We would stay there again if it’s not summer.

Summary: Street parking, unload car in handicap spot when full. Staff was very nice, gave me an upgrade. Rooms are very small, happy for upgrade. Some rooms have no windows. Some rooms have small balcony.
