Positive: Convenient location in town. Helpful front desk staff, thanks to Ximena. Great restaurant and bar (missing the rica rica pisco sour). Nice breakfast. Comfortable spacious unique room.

Positive: Desertica was an oasis (in an oasis). The location was great making it easy to go into town for meals. The grounds are fantastic. The bed was good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The shower was great.

Negative: The room was a little dark and the shower took a bit of time to drain. No fault of Desertica and there were dogs barking during the night a few nights.

Negative: I didn’t dislike anything but would suggest them to offer free bikes , charcuterie board , little things to make guests feel appreciated like other hotels in the area that are less expensive do.

Positive: Incredibly unique, cosy rooms. The food at breakfast and in the restaurant is criminally underrated and some of the best we had in San Pedro de Atacama. The cocktail list was on point. At night, the outside pool area is transformed with lit braziers and candles and turned in to the most delightful place to kick back and relax. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

Negative: Storage space was tight when we had two suitcases.

Positive: It felt that we arrived in a safaripark in Africa, each our own little hut. Room had everything we needed. Swimming pool is really nice although it was a little too cold when we were there. Lots of interesting little details around the hotel. Dinner and lunch at the restaurant were very nice although at night there was not much atmosphere. Most guests went into town we found out.

Negative: It was sometimes very hard to communicate with the person behind the desk. My Spanish is not super good but he didn't speak any English. There were several confusing situations. Take away lunch for the day was not great. The price is ridiculous high compared to all the other hotels in the area, not sure if I would pay it again.

Summary: Little gem in San Pedro but comes at a high cost
