Positive: The Hotel is magnificent. The Staff are courteous. a big shout out for Manuel at Reception. A polite and utterly lovely person to deal with. The Restaurant staff and Bar staff so courteous and helpful. The Porters/Doormen....So very pleasant.

Negative: My friends Credit Card was debited €450 as per policy according to the receptionist that booked us in. We were advised €150 per night x 3 nights = €450. She paid with no problems. A couple of days later we were requested to attend the reception to be advised they tried to take the full €1740 + for our stay, even though we had not completed our stay, we had one more day to go...and also without my friend's permission to do so on her card. She had a credit limit of €1600, and we were using this card to pay for Ubers to get us around. So, with no knowledge this was happening, the Hotel tried to take the balance and were only able to take €1000 extra, we were summoned to reception to pay the balance. This was a breach of our rights in our opinion, and also a GDPR issue. Debiting someone's credit card without their say so, mid holiday, there was a line crossed in our opinion. We were advised they should have asked us to pay upfront on check in, but they made a mistake by asking for only €150 per night (?) (Surely the receptionist didn't make this policy up on the spot). We paid upfront there and then and as a way of apology for the inconvenience and upset caused, we were given a glass of wine as a token of good will. Manuel on Reception handled it very well and was very understanding of our predicament and had it not been for his utter sensitivity and professionalism, we would have wanted to take it further.

Summary: Wonderful, bar the use of credit card on file without owners permission.

Positive: people at the reception (they served coffee when everywhere was closed) breakfast location size of the room staff at the spa pool the roof cafe

Negative: attitude of some employees there was no place to have a coffee and/or welcome your guests at certain times (restaurant, bar, roof all are closed) the lounge is closed some times and i could not make up when its closed (and no service anyhow)
