Positive: The staff was very kind, and check-in went smoothly. The breakfast was good.

Negative: The pictures make this hotel seem much nicer than it actually is -- it seems like the property did a very cheap renovation. Our room had a lot of chipped paint, the shower head didn't hang correctly which caused water to go everywhere, and it looked like mold rings were starting to form on the ceiling due to poor ventilation. The room itself was also VERY hot. There is only a small window that can be opened which was insufficient as it provided no air flow. They provided a tower fan to help, but this fan was in terrible condition and let out a screeching noise at random. Unfortunately that meant that we had to keep it off despite the oppressive heat and humidity in the room. When I informed the front desk and asked for a replacement, they came to see the issue, confirmed it was typical for these tower fans and that management had done nothing despite several complaints. They didn't have any spares to replace it, and it was clear that not all rooms had one (makes sense given the sound issues).

Summary: Kind staff, but poorly managed property; not worth the price

Positive: Stay was comfortable. No issues with the rooms. There are plenty of eateries nearby. It’s a quiet town.

Negative: The staff was not available at breakfast counter. Most of the items were empty. We had gone in for a late breakfast, at 9. They had mentioned that breakfast is available till 10. When we reached there was no one. Most of the items were over and there was no one to refill. After ten minutes, a lady came and started cleaning the coffee machine. We mentioned that most items are empty and she just nodded and went about cleaning and arranging tables. We were forced to have some bread and butter and hot chocolate.

Negative: The price - not worth it but most other places in Meiringen also costly. In summer too hot - needs a bigger fan or aircon
