Positive: Proximity to the pedestrian downtown San Jose. The room and property were clean.

Negative: Our room was directly over a busy street and the noise made it difficult to sleep, and noisily awakened early in the morning. We asked for a change to an interior room. Not! Although the GPS took us there, we had to ask where the hotel was. No visible identifying signage.

Positive: Hotel Colonial is located very well. They have a restaurant that is very good, so is their breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful if there are any questions. The rooms are comfortable and quite big. Felt very comfortable each time we stayed at Hotel Colonial.

Negative: Nothing.

Positive: Decent location. Staff were generally helpful and friendly.

Negative: Not very clean, for example, there was a clump of hair floating in the swimming pool. Bed almost in point of collapsing and as lumpy as anything (although in fairness I did sleep well).

Positive: Great location, nice breakfast. we enjoyed dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Negative: Room was small and hot with window on corridor so have to keep curtains closed for privacy.

Positive: Nice place, very clean. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was included and very good.

Negative: No A/C though. The ceiling fan is set on low. Can’t adjust. The hotel is right in downtown. So very loud with the train right by. I wish there price was a little lower. Parking is a separate fee.

Summary: Fair, the Cleanliness and the staff are great.

Positive: Friendly and helpful reception staff, friendly cleaning staff, not very friendly restaurant staff. Great location for the museums (and the best Argentine restaurant directly across the road).

Negative: Room not terribly clean but OK. Only one, very inconveniently located power socket (that really does need fixing), WiFi/Internet in my room (34 at the end of the short veranda) very erratic, need a relay point.

Summary: Nice people, WiFi/Internet in my room and parts of the restaurant dire, OKish
