Positive: The location is beautiful with breathtaking views. The Chalets are spacious and set apart from each other. THe grounds are well maintained. The staff were polite and the food was good. It was nice to be able to walk to the Ebony Forest.
Negative: The hotel needs some work to take it from good to exceptional - which it has the potential to be. There were a number of little things, mainly in the chalets which let them down, such as: the plug in the sink didn't work there were marks on the walls were holes had been filled and not painted over the curtains had come off their hooks the door to the chalet was very stiff and needed a kick to close it the TV kept coming on by itself and we had to find the switch at the back (in amongst the dust) to turn it off the housekeeping generally was not a great standard. All in all, a shame as this should be a really fabulous place, and with just a bit more attention to detail it could be one!

Negative: The evening menu was the same for all the time we were there (4 nights) with the half board choices (others were available but at a surcharge) was slightly limiting. A small criticism but overall the offering & quality was excellent.
Summary: Perfect location, fantastic views & ideal for a short break before exploring the rest of the island

Positive: The location was great easy to access past ebony forest , the staff amazing attentive always helpful , the views from chalets , some have better views than others ! Restaurant and food was excellent, breakfast the best , evening meals All food top quality. Just a wonderful place to relax.
Negative: The TV system needs updating thats all but your aren't here to watch TV. Managed with you tube .

Positive: The views are stunning & the property is built in such a way to mage the most of them.
Negative: I didn’t like that I paid extra for a room that was advertised on booking.com as having 2 beds only to find that it didn’t have 2 beds so I may as well have saved money by booking a cheaper room. When we asked the hotel staff about it, they blamed it on booking.com & said we’d have to pursue a refund for the price difference from booking.com. The hotel also needs to improve its inventory - it didn’t have 2 of the wines on its limited list - & I felt that the packed breakfast we got (we had to leave as 6am to climb le Morne) was very basic considering the cost of the hotel (e.g. dry sliced white bread with a boiled egg, a yoghurt, a piece of fruit & some cheese). They also need to get better at their understanding of vegetarianism - I ordered chocolate mousse for dessert at dinner but when I took my first bite, I could tell it was solid with gelatine - so I checked, & they told me it was only a small amount! Nervous drivers should also note that the drive up to the hotel is quite tough - maybe better suited to bigger cars than my Kia!
Summary: Great views but not great value for money.
