Positive: Well located hostel just by Tavolucci bus stop, which meets Rimini shuttle. Very nice man running the place, does his best to answer any question. Ask him for directions to old town; there's a way up that'll keep you mostly off the dangerous roads, which lack any shoulder. Place has good kitchen, comfortable common area. Limited but enough hot water in showers. Very grateful for this budget option in San Marino, which can be pricey.

Negative: Freezing cold at night in dorm. It was warm just outside in hallway, so I don't know what the secret is to getting that into the room. Also, would be nice, more efficient, to have male dorm and let the guys use the three-shower room, rather than letting women lock it for one. Make one of the en suites the female dorm. Odd to pay for linens; just add to price. No outlets in dorm, but understandable in old building.

Summary: Only and good budget accommodation with access to San Marino old town

Positive: It seems to be the only cheap accommodation in San Marino. It's near the bus stop. It has a restaurant and bar attached. It's clean.

Negative: It's far away from old town and buses stop running at 7pm in off season. It's 50 mins walk back in the dark with no footpath and crazy drivers. Buses don't run often in general so it's a 25 min slog up to the cable car to get to the old town. The hostel has a weird vibe. Most people are not backpackers. It's mostly men and I wouldn't recommend it to solo female travellers.

Summary: If I'd other choices I'd make them

Negative: Compared to the rates of hotels, such a hostel is available at such a low rate. I don't know who wrote the ranking of the hostel so badly. But you can't get anything better than this for such a low price. It is clean. But since it is in an old building, it looks strange. There is a kitchen facility. The rooms are clean and ventilated. There is air conditioning. There is a restaurant nearby. Not far from the city center.

Positive: The hostel's location is a minute walk from the Tavolucci bus stop, directly above a restaurant, and across the parking lot from a grocery store. What's not to love? The community area is huge with windows all around and a view to the area. The kitchen is large too.

Negative: I stayed in the dorm. While it had a big phone charging "station," I wish it had an outlet at every bed. Maybe they can run some extension cords... Also, it seems like an old hospital, a little sterile. Maybe a little music might help.

Summary: Good luck finding a better value in the area.

Positive: The price was very nice for what we got. The hostel is very close to two bus stops and has a great view from the terrace. You can see the old town from afar. If you don't have your own bedding the price will be a few euros higher when you get there. Not many, i believe it was 3 (i stayed for 2 nights). Still a great info to have before you get there :)

Negative: Only one toilet for the whole floor

Positive: The bus stop from Rimini stops right next to the hostel also the local bus 4 if you come back from the city center serves that stop. The kitchen was well stocked, but it only had one stove to cook. It was a little cold in the night, but if you ask at the reception they will show you where to get extra blanket. The mattress itself was not very clean, but if you pay for extra sheets, that shouldn't be a problem. A supermarket was also right next to the building.

Negative: They were 8 people in my room and nobody was snoring, I got lucky. Overall, it's a basic, budget friendly accommodation, so set your expectations straight.
