Positive: Location is fine.

Negative: It’s very dodgy and basic. A rundown location that looks like it used to rent the rooms per hour. Dirty lampshades, spots in the shower, chlorine smell and fixtures and wiring in weird places. Everything needs a lick of paint. Very old flooring. Beds not great. Shower tiny and not good waterpressure. VERY small towels.

Positive: Very close to the city center and the train station. Decent and confortable for the price – rooms are small but rather well equiped, and beds are comfortables.

Negative: Lack of plug beside the bed. The window had quite a wide gap around in the room i stayed in and lots of air was coming in. as the weather was nice, it was warm enough in the room but it might be an issue in winter. Walls are quite thin and you can hear what's happening in the corridors and the next rooms.

Positive: Location is central. The room is functional and has what one needs - comfortable bed, armchair, TV, microwave, kettle, sink, hot water. The bed, furniture, sink etc are all clean but the pipes around the walls need a cleaning. The toilet and shower (old but good shower) were clean. It's an old property but for the price it's fine.

Negative: The pipes that need cleaning.

Summary: Well located and worth the 55 euro per night.

Positive: The room was in a great location, right near the Folkingestraat and in a central area of Groningen. Nothing that I wanted to see was more than about a 20 minute walk. The room itself was clean, as was the shared toilet.

Negative: The room was a bit stuffy - it might have been better if I could open the window, but there was scaffolding up for work outside that prevented the window from opening. The stairs were very steep, which was okay for me because I didn't have a suitcase but would have been difficult if I had to carry anything.
