Travelers hungry for a warm place to rest, welcome to Chill Out Escalante, the Happy House of Barrio Escalante. Come chill with us and enjoy art, culture, coffee & craft beer in safe and exciting Escalante.
We are located in Barrio Escalante, the hip, and the safest area of San Jose. Home to unique restaurants, craft coffee, and quirky galleries, it is the ideal place to embrace the culture of San Jose. You can walk to the city center in just 15 minutes. Visit some museums like Jade, Gold or the national museum. You can taste real Costa Rican food at the central market or buy some souvenirs. We have outside and inside communal areas where you can chill and enjoy before or between your trips in Costa Rica.
We offer rooms with 6 beds, 4 beds, 8-bed dorms, and double and single private rooms. We provide free Wi-Fi, free personal lockers for guarding valuables, free fresh bed linens, free towels in private rooms and towels for rental in dorms, free maps and advice and free tea/coffee-making facilities, shared kitchen. There is a two big Supermarkets close by to the hostel just 3 minutes' walk. You can also withdraw money from the ATM inside the supermarkets safely.
