Positive: Lovely hostal ...really funky decor. The owner and staff were very friendly. The bed was super comfy and the air-conditioning was good. If you want to cook your own food there is everything you could need to prepare it. Really nice outdoor space with fans.

Positive: Staff were super lovely, they let us use the kitchen and store bags the day before we checked in whilst we camped at top of mountain, room was nice - had aircon (only available during certain hours). Kitchen was basic but had all necessities. Location - close to ferry port and meeting spot for tours.

Negative: Looks very run down.

Positive: Marta who owned the hostal was really friendly and helpful. She suggested where we could eat and arranged a taxi for us in the morning. There was a communal area upstairs where you could make a drink and sit and chat.

Negative: My room was a single room. It was fine except that it only had a pipe for the water instead of a shower head.

Summary: Friendly, helpful owner. Everything that we needed for a one night stay before taking the boat to Nicaragua.

Positive: Ideal for a one night stay before taking the boat to Nicaragua. The room we got was quite basic but had aircon which was much appreciated as it is very warm there. Only a short 5 minute walk to the main square and restaurants, and also 5 mins from the port to take the boat.

Negative: It’s a bit expensive for what you get, and there were a couple of cockroaches in the room which is never nice
