Positive: Don Felipe appears like a smiling friendly wizard in disguise in this nondescript hostal that seems to carry the weight of generations with honor and pride. He says there is no mentioning of the hostal in the street do deter burglars. Backed by a secret garden this room boasts beautiful hardwood floors that need to treated with respect, well maintained cabinets and a mirror frame that could be an authentic prop in a movie about a fictional trip of Madame Antoinette to Peru. Treat this gem carefully as it feels like an embassy to the sensitive and beautiful side of South America.

Positive: Had a lovely clean room with polished wooden floors and furniture and very comfortable bed and pillows - slept well. The house is very secure and Felipe is a very polite, friendly and helpful host, went out of his way to make the stay enjoyable and safe with info on places to visit. Loved the Passion fruits and juice too.

Negative: Was about 15 min walk to the main square which was not a problem, but not many breakfast places very nearby.

Positive: As everyone before us has said: super clean, very comfortable, on demand hot water, safe, walking distance to university and local shops. A local lady sells home baked goods on the corner (our of her van) every day starting at 3pm - 2 sol each - best cookies with caramel ever! Felipe was super helpful, relaxed, provided treats and we really enjoyed talking with him (fincas, motorcycles and tips on the city). We were grateful for the courtyard car parking.

Summary: So relaxing we extended our stay!

Positive: Felipe is an incredible dueño, happy to share time, and discussions about Pérou's culture, history, life, and curious to discover yours. He was plenty of kind attentions (maracujas from the garden, sandwich for the flight). I felt at home. More than a stay, it was an experience. Thank you Felipe! The house room and bathroom are more than clean (like the whole house) and cleaned every day. Good location 10min walk to plaza armas.

Positive: Everything. Felipe was a very attentive host and really looked after us well. The room was big and the bed comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space for all of our things. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the water hot. Secure parking for our motorcycles was excellent. Off the road and behind a locked door. Always a must for us. WiFi was good. Well located for everything. Near a laundromat and just a short walk to the town centre. We would definitely visit again.

Negative: Nothing. Everything was great.
