Positive: Interesting ryokan with a garden complex and small shops internally. Its like kind of bringing back the past way of ryokan. I guess you pick this cause you like to experience old ways of how ryokan works. The walkways are pleasantly scented with light incense and the rooms are huge. The dinner on the first night is similar with others a little disappointing , but the second night dinner was fabulous. Onsen is great and clean with warm and cold soaks. Reception staffs are warm and helpful.

Negative: The dinner felt abit rushed and not properly guided, as they hired Myanmmar staffs who cant speak much english though they tried their best to serve. But as there were 2 grilled items they fired the fire at the same time so the order of food is abit jumbled up and we couldnt enjoy as well. Bathroom is not renovated so its abit too old for comfort, feels creepy due to the dull lighting. As the corridors are long and old it can feel abit creepy but we just thought that its the story of the 1300years…

Positive: The garden, the onsen inside and outside was just a dream...the staff was super kind and helpfy. I forgot my backpack at shinkansen, the gentleman at the reception called the trainline for me and the following day l just got my bag back. Couldn't ask for more.

Negative: The smoking room doesn't have a proper ventilation and the smell just spreads around. That was the only negative thing l could say.

Positive: A lovely, relaxing slice of history. We were looked after really well. The staff are lovely and very happy to help us. We had a private onsen which was divine. We really enjoyed the break from the hustle and bustle of busier areas in Japan.

Negative: The breakfast was a little bit too traditional for our palate but it was served beautifully and really lovely experience.
