Positive: The room was clean and smelled neutral. There was a nice variety of comfortable pillows.

Negative: We specifically chose this this hotel because of the spa room. When we got there, there was a spa, but it didn't work. We were later checking in, so we didn't say anything until the next morning. The lady at the front desk acknowledged the problem and said she would let maintenance know. I would have thought that there would have been an apology and an offer to somehow make I right. Most people, I assume, choose a spa room for the spa!

Positive: Dog friendly hotel! great assortment of breakfast items both hot and cold. I appreciated the staff refilling breakfast items even 10 minutes before closing. The lobby keeps spa water, coffee, and hot water for tea and hot chocolate at all times. I was amazed the pool and hot tub was open 24 hours. Very convenient! Guests can purchase Shepler ferry tickets at the lobby and save a few bucks opposed to buying tickets the ferry dock. Easy and free shuttle to the dock as well! Lastly, the food and drinks at The Club inside Breakers Resort is a great place. Very good food and can't beat the scenery, literally less than a minute walk from the Holiday Inn.

Negative: the outlets attached to the bedside lamps did not work properly. Wall phone charger box did not fit snuggly and kept coming off the outlet. therefore, my phone did not charge overnight.

Summary: Great location, accommodations very nice and convenient. Definitely a place I would stay again!

Positive: Loved the room's balcony overlooking the lake. Also liked guest coin laundry.

Negative: Beach area needs more sand. It was mostly gravel which is hard on bare feet and not a true beach experience.

Positive: Lakefront property. Rooms overlooking Lake Huron. Nice grassy area with fire pit , chairs. Also chairs in beachfront. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Balcony

Negative: Carpets stained and need to be replaced. Unable to lock my sliding glass door. Lots of windows and light in the lobby and hallways , but the were dirty so not very pleasant to look out. My room could have been cleaner. Found several spiders on walls

Positive: Location was beautiful and quiet. The fire pit was wonderful for meeting people and chatting about places to visit.

Negative: Needed a snacks location, (chips, cookies, popcorn packets) vending machine was very underrated.
