The family apartment is located in the listed historical grain mill, in an idyllic landscape on Gera and Steigerwald. The old mill building is located northeast of the historic village center, nestled in the glacial valley of the Gera on the edge of the Steigerwald. It was first mentioned in 1667, but existed centuries ago as a grinding and oil mill. It is one of the few preserved container houses in Thuringia. After centuries of operation, the mill was shut down in 1990 and revived in summer 2014 after high-quality renovation. A careful renovation of existing buildings from the point of view of the preservation of historical monuments allows the interior and exterior wooden structure to be experienced. Summary: We stayed 8 nights in this beautiful, pleasant and comfortable appartment. Nice and quiet surrounding, very kind people. 5 min. walk to the bakery. 10 min. walk to the railway station and then 4 min. to Erfurt Hbf.
