Large home with two king-sized bedrooms and two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, Wi-Fi, cable, Smart TV, a small grill, covered storage for kayaks, and ample parking for cars or boats. The front and back yards are fenced.
The paved McIntosh County bicycle-walking path, known as the Highlander bicycle path and part of the East Coast Greenway between Maine and Key West, is located across the street. Blue ‘N Hall marina is close by for boat launch, kayaking and canoeing. St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island are about a 30 minute drive. Savannah is an hour's drive north.The charming town of Darien is three miles to the south and Harris Neck Wild Life Refuge is a 25 minute drive to the north. Sapelo Island is nearby. This home is located 6 miles from the Sapelo Island ferry dock.
More History of the home....After the city of Darien was burned by Union troops in 1863, many timber merchants, bar pilots and physicians built new homes on this slight bluff three miles away from Darien Just above the river.

Summary: Cute place. Clean. The only thing I would even suggest possibly changing is having coffee grounds or pods next to the coffee pot. Plenty of everything else including atmosphere.

Summary: Well maintained historic home. It’s been updated where necessary but retains many of its historic details. Enjoyed our 4 day stay very much. Very close to grocery store, has station and pharmacy…but still on a quiet semi-secluded lot.

Summary: We rented this house as an adult only weekend. The dads did a fishing charter as their Fathers Day gift and the ladies went to St. Simons for a nice day on the beach. The house was perfect for all of us that stayed. There was plenty of room and a whole lot of charm. The location of it was great also. It was right up the road from the docks where the guys went fishing and pretty much a straight shot down the main road to the beach. We had an issue with the AC leaking and Jan got on it very quickly. We look forward to staying there again in the future and hopefully for a lot longer than a weekend!!

Summary: Darien is a darling little seaside town and our 1870'2 vrbo was gorgeous. We enjoyed all the history of the area and visiting nearby St. Simon's Island. Prepare for seafood immersion!

Summary: Jan was great at communicating an issue with the property which turned out not to be anything worrisome. The rooms in the house were very large and everyone had their own space. We cooked on the premises and had everything we needed to do so. I will say if you plan to stay at this property you may want to bring a fan because it was a little warm it’s an old house and it just takes a while to cool off. But we worked that out too thanks for the Family Dollar very close. Good location to get to all the islands within 45 and town was close to get to a grocery store. We enjoyed breakfast and dinners in and plenty of time for games and relaxing on the porch. Very good experience.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at the historic Moses Thompson House filled with antiques and original works of art. The large yard was fenced which was convenient for our dog. We were close to great seafood restaurants, historic sites, and parks. The property manager was helpful and answered our questions promptly.
