The huge yard is completely fenced in, with a tree house, small climbing wall, swing set, multiple decks. The hot tub is an amazing hot soak under the redwoods. The downstairs sleeping area has a separate outside entry, so a great way to give your surly teens their own space.

Summary: While the Redwood property boasts stunning natural beauty, several property areas need attention to improve. Issues include housekeeping and maintenance, with concerns such as popped-up screws (toe jammers) on the deck and months-old spider webs. Maintenance problems like a rusted fire pit near the hot tub were noted, alongside safety hazards such as uneven deck boards and a patio gate that would not latch near steps. Additional concerns include accessibility due to stairs lacking rails and bottom gaps under fence gates that could allow a small dog to escape. The lack of body towels, despite being described as available in the house book, and empty bottles for laundry detergent and the hot tub chemicals. The hot tub had to be continually refilled with a water hose due to a leak. We communicated we would be bringing a 4-year-old, yet a large trailer was left in the center of the lower backyard ruining the ambiance. Shed doors that were described as locked was not locked, traveling with a young child this presented a boundary issue. There was no Chromecast for the TV, even though it's listed in the home book. When we notified the owner mid trip about our dissatisfaction, we weren't really met with any solutions.

Summary: We were in the area for a wedding and the home was perfect for our family. The area is beautiful and the hot tub was lots of fun.

Summary: Location is close to parks and beautiful trails both in open areas and redwoods. Easy drive from SFO, both uber drivers and our son found easily. Linens, paper products and kitchen supplies were nice. Mother nature had left debris around property which made play area difficult to use(we moved limbs off fencing), obviously no one's fault but none of the balls were usable and no pump to be found. We have used VRBO since 2005, we feel we are respectful and good house guests. Naively we didn't inform owner of smaller issues we encountered during our stay, we're on vacation, so go with the flow(assumed home owner knows property). In hindsight sending photos would have been a good idea, the dining table had numerous chips in surface(unfortunately kids added pen marks that I didn't have proper suppies to clean), kitchen faucet comes on mysteriously, we were unable to get 2 showers taken before hot water ran out in lower bath, and when checking the treehouse for safety my son found a wall that was in need of repair. In a house that sleeps 10 people we are being reprimanded for moving stools to seat six at a small dining table, shifting shelves covering vents, and damaging a housebook that is clearly on same bookcase. We overlooked work in progress( ripped up flooring in laundry) and cleaned what bothered us. I think if we would have been shown some courtesy through communication between home owners, us and cleaning people this experience would have been much better!

Summary: There is a board on the deck that was rotted. There were no injuries but the chair that my father was sitting on punched through the deck and he experienced a fall.

Summary: Our group loved our stay here! We were blown away by how secluded and remote the area felt for just being ~20 minutes from san mateo/ redwood city. It was great to "get away from it all" without having to drive more than an hour. The property was stunning and we enjoyed hanging out in the yard and hot tubbing. The hosts were super friendly and extremely helpful, we would definitely love to come back.

Summary: Joe and Monica’s cabin is darling!! Every little detail has been thought through, the beds, furniture, kitchen, baths are all top-notch and everything is very user friendly, WiFi was reliable! It’s totally up to date but retains its charm as a century old lWe so enjoyed our daily walks along miles of trails thru the amazing surrounding Redwoods, which we picked up right across the street! Their gardens are idyllic, lots of comfortable outside eating and lounging areas. Great barbecue. And for the children! A very cool real treehouse surrounded by a fenced in, half a football field large play area with bike track, swings and climbing set, basketball hoop and more will delight your children while you watch from the windows or new lounge area with sofas and table and chairs in the center. Teens will love the annex den, like its own little apartment with its own big screen for movies. And for us adults - a huge hot tub! Watch the stars at night thru the towering Redwoods! Can’t say enough, everything about Joe and Monica’s place was amazing . We stayed five weeks and it was the most wonderful vacation we have ever had. Highly recommend. We look forward to returning soon!
