Want to experience what makes Austin weird and wonderful? Stay in this cozy and bright studio apartment in the wooded Cuernavaca neighborhood, less than a mile from the lake and an easy 20 minute drive to downtown Austin, or ~10 minutes to the Hill Country Galleria.
The neighborhood was established in the ‘60s and became a home for Austinites wanting an alternative lifestyle. That legacy lives today with the type of home you find here — everything from log cabins to far out lake houses to communal living spaces — and in the type of residents: friendly musicians, artists, and lake-addicted families.
Wake up and take a stroll through the peaceful neighborhood with lake views. Then drive up to Civil Goat Coffee where you can say "hi" to the resident pygmy goat, Butters.
During the day you have so many choices!

Summary: We were visiting family in the neighborhood, so this worked out very well. The space was nicely designed, good natural lighting, large bathroom, comfortable large bed. The frig and microwave were helpful amenities. Communication with host was easy. I would highly recommend this property.

Summary: Unit was perfect for our stay. Nice large room with bed and kitchen area. There was a second seating area and a good size bathroom. The "kitchen" area is best suited for simple breakfast and leftovers but that was perfectly fine for us. Host was very communicative and check in and out process was quite simple. Also easy to find from the road. Would stay here again and have let our family in the area know that this is a good one to recommend for other visitors.

Summary: Our daughter stayed here for a few weeks between her apartment leases at UT. She enjoyed the peace and serenity of this studio located in the hill country & near the Colorado River. This place is in a safe neighborhood and is well-priced making the extended stay affordable. Her daily commute to Austin was a peaceful 20 minute scenic drive. She had a good stay and she would stay here again. Also, the owner is very nice and communicated well making booking and checking in for our daughter a breeze.

Summary: This was a nice place to stay. Seemed a little far from City night life. The only TV was in the bedroom which made it a little awkward to watch with friends. No sink in the kitchen area so you had to take cups and dishes to the bathroom sink- not ideal. I’m very allergic to cats and I had a pretty good reaction to the cat dander than was on the bed comforter. Washing that comforter and shams may be helpful for those staying with you who have allergies to animals.
